I have been doing some research on external storage products that are RAID capable (for data protection and longevity) and found a new product called Drobo.  I don’t yet have one, but it looks amazingly easy and well thought out.

It allows you to use up to 4 hard drives of any size.  To get data redundancy, I would expect that you really should have at least 2, but the demo movie appears to allow you to have access to your data with only one drive available.

It is really quite amazing.  If Data Robotics would like to send us a unit, we would love to start promoting them to all of our clients!
